Mumbai, March 29: Actor and director Adivi Sesh has shared his thoughts ahead of the release of his film ‘Dacoit’. He discussed what keeps him grounded as an actor and storyteller.
In a recent interview, Adivi Sesh expressed that narrating the story of his films to other actors and coordinating their schedules is always a humbling experience for him.
He stated, “When you try to share your film’s story with actors who sometimes come in for just a day or two, it makes you humble. You have to chase them down, call them to get their dates, even if their role is just for two days. You sit in front of them explaining the story, and often they say they don’t have time.”
He further added, “Because of this, I have never had the chance to show off or say that I’m in my vanity van, just let me know when you need me. I’ve never had that opportunity.”
Earlier, the actor spoke about the strength of Telugu cinema. He noted that, unlike other film industries in India, Telugu cinema has a strong emotional foundation, as it is still not dominated by corporate interests.
When asked what sets Telugu cinema apart from other industries in India, he replied, “I believe it’s the emotional connection. Let me explain what I mean. Telugu cinema is still produced by individual producers. Some may have mortgaged their homes to produce a film, while others might have sold a piece of land. Some might have done well in real estate, or there could be a doctor who has produced a film. These are the same people who are producing our films that earn 300, 400, or even 500 crores.”
Adivi Sesh is currently busy promoting his upcoming film. Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, ‘Dacoit’ is set to hit theaters on April 10. The film is directed by Shaneil Dev and features actors such as Mrunal Thakur, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Jain Mary Khan, Kamakshi, and Anurag Kashyap.
