Pune, June 24: In the case surrounding the death of Ketan Agarwal, the accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, have been remanded to police custody for seven days by the court. The defense and the victim’s family present starkly different narratives regarding the incident. While the defense claims it was an accident, the victim’s family alleges it was a premeditated murder.
Chetan Chaudhary’s lawyer, Ram Sahane, spoke to the media after the court proceedings, confirming that both accused were presented in court, which ordered their custody. He noted that the court also listened to the defense’s arguments.
According to the lawyer, Siya Goyal is the main accused, who was set to marry the complainant’s son. The two had gone on a trip to Lohagad, where the complainant’s son tragically lost his life.
The prosecution holds Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary responsible for the incident, while the defense maintains it was an accidental death. Sahane also mentioned that the police initially considered it an accident before later filing a murder case.
On the other hand, the victim’s side has labeled the incident as a planned murder. Ketan Agarwal’s uncle, Dinesh Agarwal, asserted that this was not a mere accident but part of a premeditated scheme.
He stated that after the incident, the family suspected foul play, which led the police to identify suspicious circumstances surrounding the case. Dinesh claimed that departmental investigations revealed that the entire incident was executed as part of a calculated plan, with the intent to kill Ketan.
He added that Ketan was engaged to Siya, and everything seemed normal up until the incident. So far, two individuals have been identified, and the police are actively investigating the case. The family is demanding strict action against the accused, insisting they deserve justice, and called for the death penalty for all involved in the incident.
