London, August 30: The second Test match between England and Pakistan is currently underway at Lord’s. On the fourth day, England’s entire team was bowled out for 208 runs in their second innings, setting Pakistan a challenging target of 389 runs for victory.
The day did not start well for England, as Dan Lawrence was clean bowled by Mohammad Abbas after adding just 9 runs to the team’s score of 177/7. Lawrence played a commendable innings, scoring 54 runs off 70 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes.
Ollie Robinson struggled with the bat, contributing only 8 runs before being dismissed. Josh Tong was the last batsman to be out for England, run out after scoring 12 runs. Apart from Lawrence’s half-century, Harry Brook added 34 runs, while Emilio contributed 31 runs. Joe Root chipped in with 24 runs.
England has established a lead of 388 runs, requiring Pakistan to chase down 389 runs to win the second Test. In their first innings, England had a substantial lead of 180 runs after being all out for 290. In response, Pakistan managed to score only 110 runs.
Mohammad Abbas was the standout bowler for Pakistan, taking 5 wickets for 57 runs, while Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Ali each claimed two wickets.
In the ongoing three-match Test series, England leads 1-0 after winning the first Test by an innings and 103 runs.
