AAP Leader Saurabh Bhardwaj Denies Allegations of Identifying Minor Victim

New Delhi, June 3: Saurabh Bhardwaj, the Delhi state president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has dismissed allegations that he revealed the identity of a minor victim of sexual assault. He claims that the case against him was filed for disclosing the name of the school where the incident occurred, due to the trustees’ connections with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

On Tuesday, the Delhi police registered an FIR against the AAP leader. Speaking to reporters, Bhardwaj stated, “I have neither disclosed the victim’s name nor that of her parents. I do not even know their names. The case is being filed against me for naming the school.” He further mentioned that three cases have been registered against him.

Bhardwaj asserted that this situation arises from their efforts to highlight the rape of a three-year-old girl. He pointed out that the DCP has been harassing the girl’s parents, and the SHO has been troubling them throughout the day. He emphasized that the girl had identified her assailants.

Referring to the main accused, a 57-year-old caretaker, and a female class teacher, Bhardwaj noted that both received bail within five days.

He alleged that several BJP leaders have connections with the trustees of the ‘SS Mota Singh School.’ “Why is this happening? What is their connection to the school?” he questioned.

Bhardwaj criticized the BJP for attempting to protect the school’s reputation, raising concerns about the safety of its students. He asked whether the government or police have considered the safety of those attending the school.

The AAP leader highlighted a case of sexual assault involving a three-year-old girl at SS Mota Singh School in Janakpuri, alleging that the police and central government are trying to suppress the matter instead of punishing the offenders.

He claimed that the BJP government is filing FIRs against those fighting for justice for the three-year-old victim. According to Bhardwaj, the Delhi police, under political pressure, are aiding the accused and the school’s management. He accused the relatives of the accused and school staff of attempting to defame the victim by creating videos, yet the police have not taken action against them.
