AAI to Celebrate Passenger Facilitation Day at Jodhpur Airport with Various Events

Jodhpur, June 15: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is set to celebrate ‘Passenger Facilitation Day’ on June 15 at Jodhpur Airport and other major airports across the country. This initiative aims to enhance passenger experience, promote environmental conservation, and encourage social participation through a series of events throughout the day. Manoj Uniyal, the director of Jodhpur Airport, stated that this initiative is designed to improve passenger experiences and strengthen coordination among airport staff and stakeholders.

The airport director revealed that a tree plantation program will be held under the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign. A collective singing of the national song “Vande Mataram” will also take place on the airport premises. Additionally, cake-cutting ceremonies will be organized in collaboration with airlines and other stakeholders. Special arrangements will be made to welcome passengers, including greeting some with traditional tilak and distributing welcome kits.

Manoj Uniyal also mentioned that a blood donation camp and health check-up camp will be set up, allowing both passengers and airport staff to participate. A quiz competition will be held on the premises, with prizes awarded to the winners. Cultural programs will also be organized, and feedback will be collected from passengers throughout the day to improve airport services. Passengers will be encouraged to share their experiences and suggestions for enhancing future services.

At the end of the day, a review session will be conducted to assess the activities carried out. The airport administration will also acknowledge the contributions of employees, particularly those who have played a significant role in airport operations.

The director emphasized the crucial role of women in airport operations. Their contributions to cleanliness and management are commendable, and they will be specially honored during this event. He stated that the cooperation of all employees is essential for the smooth operation of the airport, and this program aims to recognize their contributions.

Manoj Uniyal highlighted that Jodhpur Airport has witnessed a remarkable increase in passenger traffic over the past 12 years. While only a limited number of flights operated around 2014, the airport now accommodates approximately 14 to 16 flights daily during the summer and 25 to 30 flights in winter. He noted a continuous rise in passenger numbers, with the airport handling nearly 1.1 million passengers last year.

He also mentioned that a new terminal building is under construction at Jodhpur Airport, which will have a capacity nearly seven times greater than the current terminal. This new terminal will offer modern facilities to make the passenger experience more comfortable and convenient, developed in response to the growing air traffic in Jodhpur.

The airport director indicated that the new terminal is nearly complete and currently undergoing security and other necessary approvals. He expects that all security formalities will be finalized within the next one to two weeks. Following this, final system testing will occur, leading to the inauguration and operational launch of the new terminal.
