A String of Brazen Robberies

One of the first reported incidents was at the home of Prempuri, son of Takhatpuri Goswami, who lodged a formal complaint with Dabok police. Prempuri reported that thieves broke into his house, stealing โ‚น4,000 in cash and two silver anklets.

In the neighboring Rawat Basti, Mangilal Meena, son of Tejaji, suffered an even bigger loss. Thieves broke into his house, scattering belongings and taking โ‚น30,000 in cash along with silver jewelry, including anklets and a belt. Though the family woke up during the commotion, the thieves had already fled.

Another target was the home of Meghraj, son of Pura, where CCTV cameras recorded the thieves attempting a break-in. However, upon noticing the cameras, they left without stealing anything.

At the residence of Gangabai, wife of Kamla Shankar Joshi, the thieves managed to bypass the window grille using a drill and stole โ‚น10,000 in cash. Despite the smaller amount stolen, the intrusion left the family shaken.

Similarly, Shankar Lal Dangi, son of Partha, thwarted a robbery attempt after his children, Khushi and Rahul, spotted the thieves and raised an alarm. The robbers fled before further damage could be done.

In a nearby area, Omprakash, son of Kailash, reported that thieves broke into his house and stole โ‚น55,000 in cash.

The burglars also attempted to break into the home of Narayan, son of Dalu, at Pipli Chowk. However, they were interrupted when Shivlal, a resident of a neighboring house, woke up after hearing noises and alerted the police. The burglars escaped without causing further damage.

Residents Furious Over Police Inaction

The series of robberies has triggered massive anger among the residents of Tus Dangiyan, who have criticized the police for their perceived lack of response and inability to curb such incidents. Villagers claim that similar thefts have occurred in the past, yet no concrete action has been taken to address the issue or apprehend the culprits.

Local residents attempted to chase the robbers after the incidents but were unsuccessful as the thieves used the cover of darkness to escape. The perceived lack of a proactive approach from law enforcement has only intensified their frustration.

Many villagers voiced their concerns, stating:
โ€œThe thieves are becoming bolder because they know there is no fear of the law. If the police cannot provide us with security, who will?โ€

CCTV Evidence Ignored?

A major source of frustration is the lack of progress despite CCTV footage capturing the movements of the culprits. Villagers allege that the police have been slow to act on the leads provided by this evidence, raising concerns about inefficiencies in the investigation.

The footage reportedly shows clear visuals of the thieves, yet their identities remain unknown, and no arrests have been made. This failure has left the villagers questioning the effectiveness of the local police force.
