Fortuner Car Stopped with Spike Strip, 370 Kg of Doda Chura Seized in Chittorgarh
Udaipur / Chittorgarh, January 26 : In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics, the Kotwali police in Chittorgarh seized 369.355 kilograms of Doda Chura from a fleeing Fortuner SUV. Despite the use of a spike strip to puncture the vehicleโs tires, the driver managed to drive for nearly two kilometers before abandoning the car and fleeing under the cover of darkness.
Details of the Operation
Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudhir Joshi revealed that the district police have been running an ongoing campaign to curb illegal narcotics and apprehend wanted criminals. As part of this initiative:
- A police team led by Kotwali Thana In-charge Bhawani Singh set up a roadblock near the Ghatiyawali highway culvert.
- During the checkpoint, a speeding Fortuner SUV approached from the Ghatiyawali side.
- The driver ignored signals to stop and accelerated to escape.
Chase and Seizure
- The police deployed a spike strip to puncture the SUVโs tires.
- Despite the punctured tires, the driver continued for two kilometers before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing.
- Upon searching the vehicle, the police discovered 21 plastic sacks containing a total of 369.355 kilograms of Doda Chura.
Legal Action and Investigation
- The police registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Kotwali police station.
- The Fortuner SUV, narcotics, and number plates found in the vehicle were confiscated.
- An investigation is underway to identify the suspect and trace the source and destination of the contraband.
