Udaipur : The historic Maharana Bhupal Stadium in Udaipur witnessed a grand spectacle on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day. Returning after a decade, the state-level celebration in the land of valor and sacrifice, Mewar, became a resounding tribute to a strong republic and a prosperous nation. The event, conducted with full protocol and dignity, featured Honorable Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde hoisting the tricolor and inspecting the ceremonial parade. The event was graced by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma along with other distinguished guests.

Grand Parade and Salutations

The celebrations began with Governor Haribhau Bagde arriving at the venue at 9:30 AM, where he was welcomed by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. The Governor hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem and inspected the parade from an open vehicle. The parade featured 16 contingents, including police, RAC, and home guards, marching in unison to the rhythm of military bands, showcasing discipline and valor.

Governor Bagde presented prestigious awards during the ceremony:

  • Presidentโ€™s Medal: Awarded to ADG Recruitment & Promotion Board, Sachin Mittal, and ADG Intelligence S. Sengathir.

The Rajasthan Policeโ€™s Horse Riding Wing delivered a thrilling display under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent Jitendra Singh, a silver medalist at the Asian Games. The galloping horses, paired with displays of swordsmanship, lance work, and obstacle jumps, left the audience in awe.   • Health Department: Highlighted the TB Harega, Desh Jeetega initiative, emphasizing the stateโ€™s commitment to eradicating tuberculosis.
  • Agriculture Department: Depicted efforts in organic farming and integrated agriculture systems.

District-specific tableaux captured Rajasthanโ€™s unique identity:

  • Jaipur: Featured Panch Gaurav, showcasing its historical achievements.
