Per Capita Monthly Data Usage Surges to 32.3 GB; Jio’s Customer Base Crosses 48.21 Crore

New Delhi, January 17, 2025: Reliance Jio has achieved a significant milestone, with over 17 crore subscribers now using its 5G network across India. This makes Jio the world’s largest standalone 5G operator outside China.

  • 5G Adoption and Data Consumption:
    With the rapid adoption of 5G, Jio users are setting new records in monthly data consumption. By the end of December 2024, per capita monthly data usage surged to 32.3 GB, solidifying Jio’s position as an industry leader.
    Forty percent of the total data consumed on Jio’s network now comes from its 5G users, contributing significantly to the company’s overall data growth.
  • Annual Data Growth:
    Total data consumption on Jio’s network reached a staggering 4651 crore GB in 2024, representing a year-on-year growth of 22.2%.

Jio’s Expanding User Base and Financial Performance

Reliance Jio’s customer base crossed 48.21 crore by the end of 2024, with a net addition of 33 lakh subscribers in the third quarter. The company recorded an average revenue per user (ARPU) of ₹203.3, reflecting its robust financial health.

Jio Platforms posted a net profit of ₹6,861 crore in Q3 2024, marking a 26% year-on-year increase.
