Rajkot, Gujarat: A devastating fire engulfed a gaming zone in Rajkot on Saturday, leaving at least 26 people dead, including 12 children. The tragedy struck the shopping mall’s gaming zone at a time when it was bustling with children.
Emergency Response and Investigation:
Police teams and fire tenders rushed to the scene to combat the blaze. The owner of the gaming zone has been arrested, according to sources.
A special investigation team has been formed to probe the incident. Preliminary information suggests that the gaming zone’s operator had not obtained an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the fire department.
Expressions of Condolence:
President Droupadi Murmu expressed her grief over the incident, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the fire at a gaming zone in Rajkot and the loss of many lives. I express my deepest condolences to the families who have lost their children. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his sorrow, saying, “I am deeply saddened by the fire accident in Rajkot. My condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones. Praying for the injured. The local administration is working to provide all possible assistance to the affected.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his condolences and stated that the administration is making every effort for relief and rescue operations and providing treatment to the injured.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also mourned the incident and expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved families.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has directed officials to prioritize rescue operations and ensure immediate medical attention for the injured. He stated, “Instructions have been issued to the municipal corporation and administration for immediate rescue and relief work in the fire incident at the gaming zone in Rajkot. Instructions have also been issued to prioritize the arrangement of immediate treatment for the injured.”
