Udaipur : Zinc Football Academy forwards Jangminthang Haokip and Ashish Malya have been called up for India Under-17 National Camp in Goa, following their impressive performances at the ongoing Hero U-17 Youth Cup in Goa.
Zinc Football Academy –a CSR intervention of Vedanta-Hindustan Zinc Limited, played exceptional football to go unbeaten at the group stage and qualify for next round of the Hero U17 Youth Cup. Zinc Football Academy defeated top Indian youth clubs Bengaluru FC, FC Goa, Churchill Brothers FC and ARA FC where Jangminthang and Ashish played vital roles for the team success.
Jangminthang and Ashish have joined the India National Camp in Goa which is preparing for the upcoming 2023 AFC Asian Cup. Prior to Jangminthang and Ashish, Zinc Football Academy goalkeeper Sahil Poonia has already donned the Indian Football Team jersey last year at the SAFF Championship and AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
