Coal India gains as its production rises by 10.3% to 66.4 MT in December

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 226.85, up by 1.70 points or 0.76% from its previous closing of Rs. 225.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 226.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 227.15 and Rs. 224.70 respectively. So far 99332 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 263.30 on 09-Nov-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 145.15 on 31-Dec-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 227.15 and Rs. 214.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 139616.61 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.34% and 4.52% respectively.

Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 10.3% to 66.4 million tonnes (MT) in December 2022 as against 60.2 MT in December 2021. The company’s production in the April- December 2022 period increased 15.8 per cent to 479.0 MT, compared with 413.6 MT in the year-ago period.

The company’s offtake increased by 3.6% to 62.7 MT in December, 2022, over 60.6 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. Its offtake in the April- December 2022 period increased by 5.4% to 507.8 MT over 481.6 MT in the year-ago period.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
