PM gifts development works worth ₹75k cr to Maha

Mumbai : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted development works worth ₹75,000 crore to Maharashtra. The Prime Minister flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train, dedicated ‘Nagpur Metro Phase-1’ to the nation and also laid the foundation stone of ‘Nagpur Metro Phase-2’ in Nagpur on Sunday. After inaugurating the first phase of Samruddhi Mahamarg, AIIMS Nagpur with state-of-the-art facilities was inaugurated.

The PM inaugurated the first phase of Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg connecting Nagpur and Shirdi. Vande Bharat Express train running between Nagpur-Bilaspur was flagged off from Nagpur railway station. Modi travelled by Metro by buying tickets at Freedom Park station of Nagpur Metro and also interacted with the students. Apart from dedicating ‘Nagpur Metro Phase-1’ to the nation, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of ‘Nagpur Metro Phase-2’. The Prime Minister inaugurated AIIMS Nagpur with state-of-the-art facilities.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of AIIMS Nagpur in July 2017. union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari present on the occasion said that the government is building a highway from Aurangabad to Pune. Soon it will start its work, due to which it will take only six hours to reach Pune from Nagpur, he informed, the government is also building six express highways in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said about Samruddhi Mahamarg that this is the Samruddhi Highway to benefit 24 districts of Maharashtra. Preparations for the G20 are also going on in full swing in Maharashtra. He said that the government knows the importance of the G20. It is a matter of pride for the citizens to get the chairmanship of G20. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis thanked Prime Minister Modi for all these schemes.

Modi said in his address that today’s event is also proof of how fast the double engine government is working in Maharashtra. Samruddhi Mahamarg will not only reduce the distance between Mumbai and Nagpur, but it will also connect 24 districts of Maharashtra with modern connectivity, he said. Modi congratulates Maharashtra and its people for these development works worth ₹75,000 crore in the Amrit Mahotsav of 75 years of independence. Whether it is about healthcare for the common man, or about wealth creation, whether it is about empowering the farmer or about water conservation, today for the first time in the country there is such a government which has given a human touch to the infrastructure.

He said that in the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal, the country is moving ahead with the great resolve of a developed India. India’s collective strength is the way to build a developed India, he said that the mantra to build a developed India is the development of the state for the development of the nation. He said that in the last eight years, they have changed both their thinking and approach, that the government is emphasising on everyone’s support, faith, development and efforts. Modi said that when he says ‘everybody’s effort’, it includes every citizen and state. India will become developed only when the capacity of everyone, big or small, increases, he added.
