Srinagar : Deputy Inspector General of Police Sujit Kumar, Central Kashmir and Range in-charge of South Kashmir, said on Saturday that preliminary investigation has revealed that a terrorist was behind the attack of a Kashmiri Pandit who was shot dead in Shopian today.
Talking to reporters, in-charge Sujit Kumar said that it is being worked on and preliminary investigation has revealed that a terrorist was involved in the act. He added that once the picture becomes a little clearer, more details will be shared accordingly but for now the investigation is on.
He said that if any security lapse is found on the part of the security guards and the officer-in-charge of the area, action will definitely be taken.
He also said that the attack has been claimed by the Kashmir Freedom Fighter (KFF) group which is being financed by a terror outfit.
Meanwhile, Shopian Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaish, while talking to reporters, said that all possible help is being provided to the Pandit family by the government.
He also said that the mortal remains of the deceased will be sent to Jammu, where he will be cremated and the administration has made all arrangements for the same.
