Dubai : The Australian women’s cricket team has topped the ICC ODI team rankings with a record number of points after the annual update on Saturday. The Australian team is 51 ratings points ahead of second-ranked South Africa, which is the biggest lead in the ICC rankings. Australia has a total of 170 points, while South Africa has 119 points.
England’s team is at number three with 116 points. Despite a historic 3–0 series win against England in ODIs, Team India has not progressed much in the ICC Women’s ODI Team Rankings and has secured only one rating point. The Indian team is at the fourth position with 104 points.
The latest update excludes the series for the 2018-19 season, while the series for the 2019-20 and 2020-2021 seasons have been given 50 per cent weightage in the annual count and the series after that at 100 per cent.
Australia leads the T20 rankings with 299 rating points, 18 points more than second-ranked England. England has 281 points. New Zealand (271 points) and India (266 points) have retained their third and fourth places, while South Africa (246) has moved up to fifth place, overtaking West Indies (232).
