Jaipur : The Nursing Officers of the Military Nursing service at Jaipur Military station celebrated 97th Raising day 01 Oct 2022. On this occasion, Lt Gen Amardeep Singh Bhinder, GOC -in –C HQ South Western Command extended his greetings to all the officers and their families for their sincere contribution as well as care & compassion.
Military Nursing Officers are providing patient care service not only in the country but are also serving in UN Missions, and are an integral part in all disaster and pandemic relief operations undertaken by Tri Services. As the COVID-19 pandemic engulfed human life, the lessons learnt over the past centuries have helped the nurses to develop better strategies to improve their resilience towards the pandemic.
The history of this Service in the Armed forces dates back to 28 Mar 1888 with a handful of British Nurses, who later transformed into the permanent Nursing Service on 01 Oct 1926. At the moment, the Corps has 5000 strong, highly educated and specialized nurses who are professionally competent, compassionate and ready to take on any challenges with a mission of “Excellence in patient care both in War and Peace” and a motto of “Service with Smile”.
Army Commander lauded the untiring efforts and perseverance of the MNS officers for their competent, compassionate and disciplined services both during War and Peace.
