New Delhi : The Congress party has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of defaming the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Party spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh said during a press conference on Monday that the BJP is upset with the success of Bharat Jodo Yatra, that is why their leaders keep making nonsense statements about the journey. He said that sometimes these people are raising questions about the T-shirt and sometimes the container, instead of speaking on inflation, unemployment and economy.
Vallabh said that all the allegations made by the BJP regarding the yatra have proved to be false. He said that BJP leader and Minister Smriti Irani alleged that Rahul Gandhi did not go near the statue of Vivekananda while starting the Bharat Jodo Yatra. He continued that Irani’s allegation proved to be false but she never apologized for her false statement.
Vallabh said that the photo of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and niece Miraya Vadra (Priyanka Gandhi’s daughter) shared on Twitter by Tamil Nadu BJP IT cell chief Nirmal Kumar is condemnable and they should apologise for this.
Nirmal Kumar had tweeted a photo where a girl was also seen with Rahul Gandhi in it. This girl was Miraya Vadra, niece of Rahul Gandhi. Sharing this photo, Nirmal wrote that it is a sin to even think about ten people who have gone on a journey with this pappu (taunt on Rahul Gandhi) playing with children by applying henna on their hands. However, seeing the increasing pressure on social media, Nirmal had removed his tweet and wrote that his tweet written in Tamil has been misinterpreted.
