Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh CMs meet Sonia Gandhi over Congress revival plan

New Delhi, April 20 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel met Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday and discussed the roadmap suggested by poll strategist Prashant Kishor. Party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said the discussions around the future roadmap will conclude in another 48-72 hours. Surjewala said the short committee appointed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi to make the organisation stronger has been meeting for last few days. He said the committee is looking at the recommendations given by Prashant Kishor to strengthen the party for upcoming polls, and to bring organisational changes and reforms, and to link it with aspirations of people. Surjewala said, “The committee felts the CMs of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh impotrtant to take their suggestions. “Congress organisation must adapt to all changes, that is why this committee has been holding deliberations for last three days on the various suggestions.” He said talks were held with Gehlot and Baghel, and the suggestions given by Kishor and different Congress leaders time to time for organisational reforms were discussed. Surjewala also commented on the demolition drive held in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri on Wednesday and said, “Bulldozer should be run over price rise, unemployment and religious fanaticism. But bulldozer is being run over humanity. It is our misfortune that India of 21st century has been brought to bulldozer politics”. AO RNJ
