New Delhi, April 20 : Ceasefire agreements with three Naga groups have been extended for another year, Home Ministry said on Wednesday. The Ministry said in a statement ceasefire agreements are in operation between Government of India and National Socialist Council of Nagaland/NK (NSCN/NK), National Socialist Council of Nagaland/ Reformation (NSCN/R) and National Socialist Council of Nagaland/K-Khango (NSCN/K-Khango). It was decided to extend the Ceasefire Agreements for a further period of one year with effect from April 28, 2022 to April 27, 2023 with NSCN/NK and NSCN/R and from April 18, 2022 to April 17, 2023 with NSCN/K-Khango. These Agreements were signed on April 19, 2022. The Naga peace talks refer to talks undertaken between the Indian government and the various stakeholders in Nagaland to resolve decades-old disputes. Some of these issues date back to the pre-independence times. The Nagaland Peace Accord, a peace treaty, was signed on 3 August 2015, between the Government of India, and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN), to end the insurgency in the state of Nagaland in Northeast India.
