Puducherry, April 19 : Puducherry Home Minister A Namasivayam on Tuesday evening chaired a meeting of senior police officials here to chalk out the security measures to be adopted during the visit of on Home Minister Amit Shah to Puducherry on April 24. Additional Director general of Police Anand Mohan, Inspector General of Police V J Chandran, Senior Superintendent of police Deepika, SPs, and Inspectors participated in the meeting. Talking to news persons after the meeting, Namasivayam said that Shah is visiting Puducherry to announce several welfare schemes for the UT. This visit of Shah will be beneficial to Puducherry, he added. Namasivayam said the on Minister landing at the Puducherry airport at 9-30 AM on April 24 will drive straight to the Pondicherry versity to inaugurate the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Saint Philosopher Sri Aurobindo. He will later visit the Aurobindo Ashram and Bharathiyar museum before taking part in a government function at Kamban Kalai Arangam. After that he will participate in the convocation at the government medical college and visit the BJP party office here. Namasivayam said several demands pertaining to the police department were forwarded to the centre and the on government is prepared to implement the same one after the other. Files for this are being prepared, he said, adding that the PM and HM had assured to help the development of the on territory. Earlier, a meeting of senior officials in connection with the visit of Amit Shah was held at the Kamban Kalai Arangam .Sub-collector Rishita Gupta presided over the meeting in which official from several departments participated.
