Mumbai, April 15 : The five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will be desperately aiming to clinch their first win of the 2022 season, when they take on new entrants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here at the Brabourne Stadium on Saturday. While Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai are at the bottom of the points table with zero win in five matches, the KL Rahul-led Lucknow are placed fifth at the standings after five games with three wins and two loss. Suryakumar Yadav, Dewald Brevis, and Tilak Varma have been the key figures in the Mumbai line-up. Suryakumar has hit two fifties and a 43 in his three matches, while young gun Tilak has impressed whenever he has walked out to bat. Ishan Kishan had played a fiery innings in the first two matches but failed to continue his form in the last three games. He will have to bring back the same momentum to trouble Lucknow bowlers. Bowling wise, MI couldn’t manage to impress much. Murugan Ashwin has been consistent with his bowling and Jasprit Bumrah has been economical while others failed to leave their mark. In the last match against Punjab Kings, Bumrah was in his classic self, bowling excellent yorkers and will have to continue with the same to keep check on LSG batters. Lucknow have able set of batters in the form of skipper Rahul, Quinton de Kock, and Marcus Stoinis. Opener de Kock has hit two fifties in five matches so far as has Deepak Hooda. Young Ayush Badoni has played a couple of crucial knocks towards the end of the innings. In the bowling t, spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been in fine form but more importantly has been economical in his spells. Avesh Khan, Jason Holder, Krishnappa Gowtham and Andrew Tye are others who can be backed to do wonders against MI.
