Aakar Patel ruling reserved till Saturday

New Delhi, April 13 : A CBI Special Court after hearing submission by the CBI against an order to withdraw a Look Out Circular against former Amnesty International India chief Aakar Patel, reserved its ruling till April 16. The Central Bureau of Investigation filed a written submission before the court that Patel has been involved in a number of cases. CBI Special Judge Santosh Snehi Mann heard the revision petition filed on behalf of the central probe agency and stayed the order of ACJM court, who had directed the CBI to withdraw the LOC issued against Patel and file a written apology to Patel. Patel has been ordered not to leave the country without the court’s permission. Patel has also filed a contempt petition before the court against the Investigating Officer of CBI for non compliance of the order of the ACJM court. Pawan Kumar, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACJM) passed the earlier order on February 7 in Patel’s favour. Counsel for CBI in this matter filed a sanctions report granted by central government for prosecuting Patel and submitted about the ex Amnesty India chief’s involvement in a number of cases. Counsel for Patel submitted before the court that Patel is honourable person of the society and has been falsely implicated in this case. Mann after accepting the written submission by CBI adjourned the matter, saying the order will be passed on Saturday. XC RA ING
