Blast at Nitish Kumar’s programme, he is unhurt

Patna, April 12 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had a narrow escape when a blast took place during his Jan samvad programme at Gandhi High School in Silav of Nalanda District on Tuesday. According to preliminary reports pouring in here, the blast took place when the Chief Minister was interacting with the people during the programme. Initially, it appeared that a cracker was burst by some miscreant about 15 to 18 feet away from the chief minister, who escaped unhurt. There were no reports so far of anyone getting injured. However, there was complete chaos at the venue due to the blast. Initial reports said a person tried to come close to the Chief Minister to touch his feet during which the blast took place. According to police, one person has been detained in connection with the blast. He is being interrogated at the Silav Police Station. The blast was said to be mild. The Jan Samvad programme, however, continued even after the incident. Earlier, Kumar on his visit to Nand village for Jan samvad Yatra was welcomed by the JD(U) leader Ali Mukhiya and Umesh Prasad.
