Deoghar, Apr 11 (UN) A woman has lost her life while 48 people are still trapped in a ropeway incident which took place on the Trikut Hills of Deoghar district of Jharkhand on Sunday. On Monday morning once again rescue operations have commenced in which apart from the NDRF the teams of the Army have joined hands. Two helicopters have been pressed into rescue operations to bring down the people stuck in the trolleys. Most of the people who are struck in the trolleys are from Malda, Bhagalpur and Deoghar districts. So far the commandos of the army have not managed to achieve any sucess. Initial attempt was made from the choppers to rescue the people from cabin number 18 and 9. The ropeway incident had taken place on Sunday late afternoon. As a result of the incident so far a woman Sumanti Devi (50) from Sarath of Deoghar district has lost her life while 12 others were injured. Director of Deoghar Airport Sandeep Dhingra said that two helicopters of the Air Force have joined the rescue operations and location has been shared with them. The trolleys are hanging nearly 2500 feet above the ground therefore all necessary precautions are being adopted to ensure safety of the people stuck in the trolleys. The teams of the NDRF late in the night had also tried sending food packets to the people stuck in the trolleys. Godda MP Nishikant Dubey, Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri and other officials are camping on the spot. Tourism Minister Hafizul Hasan and Education Minister Jaggarnath Mahto are also on their way to Trikut Hills. Apart from army jawans of ITBP and NDRF team from Bihar are assisting in the operations.
