Kolkata, April 5 : Calcutta High Court on Tuesday observed that if the CBI may deem fit to have former SSC ( Schools Service Commission) advisor Shanti Prasad Sinha in its custody and question him regarding the alleged irregularities in the recruitments of teaching and non-teaching staff in the government-sponsored schools, the agency can go ahead. Single bench judge justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay after hearing the arguments observed this and directed the prime accused to make himself present before the CBI official by 3 pm on Tuesday. The court also directed the Survey Police Station officer-in-charge in the city to ensure the presence of the former SSC advisor in the court, which also stated that Shanti Prasad Sinha was the main culprit in the alleged recruitment scam. The CBI, meanwhile, has submitted its reports before the single bench of its interrogation of the four members of the SC advisory committee. The CBI followed an order of the single bench on Monday and quizzed the four members of the SSC advisory committee. The court said if the CBI may think fit it can question the former SSC advisor by taking him in its custody, and directed the federal investigating agency to quiz the advisory committee member Aloke Kumar Sarkar once again as he was responsible to fill the vacant seats in the recruitment of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the state government-sponsored schools. The court also directed the four advisory committee members to furnish their details of property by Monday. PC SJC ARN
