Opposition not to attend Kerala Govt’s anniversary celebrations

Thiruvananthapuram, April 3 : Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly VD Satheesan will boycott the first anniversary celebrations of Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government in Kerala. The Opposition leader told newspersons on Sunday said the Congress party will not attend the first anniversary celebrations in protest against the Government decision to go ahead with the proposed Semi-High-Speed SilverLine (K-Rail) Project. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the state-level celebrations in Kannur at 6 pm on Sunday. Revenue Minister K Rajan will preside over the function. Meanwhile, the survey and laying of alignment stones to start the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) study were stopped in three districts due to strong protest from the public. The SIA was stopped by the Rajagiri College of Social Sciences which was authorised to conduct the study. DS ACL1031
