Patna, March 23 : Bihar Assembly was adjourned till lunch on Wednesday following the ruckus created by the opposition over hooch tragedy during the pre-lunch session in the Lower House. Soon after the Bihar assembly speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha took up the Zero Hour proceedings turning down the adjournment motions moved separately by CPI-ML, RJD and Congress members, the entire opposition created noisy scenes over the hooch tragedy. CPI-ML member Satyadev Ram and Congress legislature party leader Ajith Sharma accompanied by other members of the opposition tried to draw the attention of the house towards the tragedy saying that several people lost their lives after consuming is spurious liquor in the state recently. The members demanding a statement from the government on the issue said that even the postmortem of the deceased was not conducted. The opposition members creating noisy scenes trooped to the well and demanded an immediate reply from the government. However, considering the request of the speaker there resumed their seats. Later parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary said that the government would make its comment on the issue during its reply related to the home department enlisted for the day after tomorrow. The opposition members were again on their toes and demanded compensation to the kith of the deceased who lost their lives after consuming the spurious liquor. The opposition members also demanded action against the officials guilty of the hooch tragedy. The speaker intervening in the noisy scenes said that it was an unfortunate incident and the government has taken serious cognizance of it. He said that the government has already fixed a time to make a statement on the issue. The parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary stated that the government was ready to reply to the issue during the fixed schedule. The members annoyed at it again trooped to the well and shouted anti-government slogans demanding resignation from the chief minister. Waving play cards and pamphlets the opposition created ruckus demanding compensation and probe into the hooch tragedy. The speaker repeatedly requested the members to resume their seats to bring the house in order but in vain following which he had joined the house till lunch. RS RN
