Pondy Govt struggling to implement announced schemes : Narayanasamy

Puducherry, March 21 : Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister V Narayanasamy has claimed that the N R Congress-BJP government in the on Territory is struggling to implement the announced schemes due to financial crisis. In a video clip sent to the media here on Sunday night, Mr Narayanasamy said the NDA government in the UT, which is about to complete one year in office, had failed to get the funds from the Centre, more than the previous Congress-DMK government had obtained. The government is reeling under severe financial crisis, he said and wondered why Chief Minister N Rangaswamy even though he is in good terms with the Centre could not obtain permission to present a full-fledged budget for 2022-23. Are the BJP leaders a stumbling block in this, or whether the Central government is blocking Rangaswamy from presenting a full budget, Narayanasamy asked. The former Chief Minister demanded that Mr Rangaswamy should give an explanation to all these and also to the question whether there is any rift in the N R Congress-BJP alliance. Pointing out to his earlier statement that Chief Minister’s and Ministers offices has turned into a den of brokers, he alleged that a sum of Rs.7 lakh is being demanded as bribe for the appointment of a police constable. This substantiates his charges, the senior Congress leader added. If Rangaswamy is leading a corruption-free government, he should intervene to appoint constables on the basis of their qualifications, failing which people will understand that the Chief Minister also supported the corruption. Referring to the Lt.Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister along with Ministers and legislators watching the film “Kashmir Files”, he wondered why the LG is so concerned with the film which instigate communal violence and alleged that she is playing politics.
