CBI registers case against Postal official in Telangana for misappropriation of SSP accounts

Hyderabad, Mar 9 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against then Sub Postmaster at Chintapalli Post Office in Nalgonda district of Telangana on the allegations of misappropriation of Social Security Pension (SSP) Accounts and caused a loss of 1.62 crores. The accused K. Naresh Kumar received the reports in respect of Social Security Pension Accounts from the Branch Post Offices (BPMs) including Gadia Gowraram Branch Post Office, Injamur Branch Post office, Kurmapalli Branch Post Office, Nasarlapalli Branch Post Office, Madanapur Branch Post Office, Takkalapalli Branch Post Office and Kurmed Branch Post Office, the CBI said in a release here on Wednesday. It was alleged that the accused exaggerated the reports received from BPMs by changing the amounts in the reports of BPMs in his computer ID and shown as if the said Branch Post Offices had generated the said reports and thus he misappropriated an amount of Rs. 1,62,50,000. Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused in Devarkonda, Nalgonda . Investigation is continuing. KNR SHK1945
