New Delhi, March 8 : Praising Delhi Commission for Women(DCW) on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the commission has done a phenomenal job and made a huge impact among residents of the national capital since his government came to power. “One of the impacts is that the women now feel much confident and secure because they know that there is a government body looking after them,” he said. “The women of Delhi know that if they face any injustice or any untoward incident, they can call 181 (DCW helpline) and they will be provided assistance,” he added. Kejriwal was speaking during a felicitation ceremony organised by the DCW where around 60 awards were given away to women achievers and those who have been involved in working on women’s issues. The Chief Minister said that Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) is now setting an example for all women commissions, including National Commission For Women(NCW) as to how these should be run. “DCW in the previous government solved only one or two cases in 8 years. But Since our government formed, over 1.25 lakh cases were resolved by the DCW. Other women’s commissions should learn from the DCW. Even the National Commission For Women (NCW) should learn how a women’s panel should function,” Kejriwal added ASH RKM
