Abhishek Banerjee arrives in Goa

Panaji, March 8 : Ahead of the counting of votes polled for assembly elections in Goa on February 14, All India Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee arrived in the state on Wednesday. He was accompanied by TMC MP Derek O’ Brien. According to sources, poll strategist Prashant Kishor too is likely to land in the coastal state today. Counting of votes in Goa is to be held on March 10. The TMC, which had made an electoral foray in Goa in September last year, has contested 26 seats while its ally Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) 13 seats. Meanwhile, MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar expressed confidence that the alliance would win at least 13-14 seats and a proper decision would be taken after counting of votes. Mr Dhavalikar said he met former on Minister P Chidambaram and Congress Goa Desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao. AKM GK
