New Delhi, Mar 6 : Under Operation Ganga so far, 15,920 Indians have been flown back to India on board 76 flights, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Sunday, adding that seven more evacuation flights are scheduled till Monday evening. The Ministry also said that over 21,000 Indians have come out of war-hit Ukraine since January 2022, when the first advisory was issued by the Indian Embassy in Kyiv. Of these Indians, 19,920 have already reached India, the MEA said. Thirteen flights landed since Saturday evening, bringing back 2,500 Indians. Of the seven flights scheduled over the next 24 hours, one is an Indian Air Force C-17 flight. While the IAF C-17 flight be from Rzeszow in Poland, of the others, five would be from Budapest and one from Suceava in Romania. It also said that six tranches of humanitarian aid have been already sent to Ukraine. On Sunday, one more tranche weighing six tonnes was dispatched by an IAF flight to Poland. The MEA Control Room, as well as the Control Centres operated by our Embassies, continue to operate on 24×7 basis. The MEA Control Room has attended to 12,435 calls and 9,026 emails so far, it said.
