Assembly speaker reviews arrangements for budget session

Vijayawada, Mar 5 : Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram reviewed the arrangements being made for the budget session of Assembly to begin on March 7. At a meeting held in the Legislative committee hall in Amaravati on Saturday, the Speaker directed the secretaries of various departments to ensure that answers and clarifications would be given to the members before concluding the session. He directed the police officials to make elaborate security arrangements to conduct the budget session peacefully. Speaking on the occasion, Sitaram said that people of the state would lay focus on the budget session and the responsibility lies on the officials to provide information asked by the members. He said that answers to some of the questions, asked by the MLAs and MLCs during the last session, had not been given and information should be provided to them during the budget session. The Speaker asked DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy to provide foolproof bandobust for the budget session. Since there is a huge extent of vacant land around the Assembly complex, security arrangements should be made at all the areas, he said. Legislative Council Chairman Koyye Moshen Raju asked the heads of departments to provide information to questions to be asked by the members. He recalled that information relating to the questions pertaining to the finance department were not provided to the members during the last session. Government Chief Whip G Srikanth Reddy, DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy, Assembly Secretary P Balakrishnamacharyulu, Deputy Secretary M Vijaya Raju, Legislative Council OSD K Satyanarayana Rao and other officials are among those who were present.
