Minister for Railways to conduct site inspection of ‘Kavach system’

Hyderabad, March 3 : Minister of Railways, Comm cation and Electronic and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw will inspect the working of Kavach’– the Indian Railways Indigenous Train Protection System- here on Friday. He will inspect ‘Kavach system’ between Lingampalli – Vikarabad section of Secunderabad Division, SCR said in a release here on Thursday. The KAVACH is an indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection system by Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) in collaboration with Indian industry. South Central Railway (SCR) has been closely associated with its implementation since the development stage. Indian Railways plans to extend the Kavach System across its entire rail network, which provides enhanced safety, security and punctuality in train operations. Facilitating automatic braking for prevention of over-speeding of trains, Kavach is meant to provide protection by preventing trains from passing the signal at Danger (Red) and avoiding collisions.
