Udaipur : Chittorgarh police confiscated huge amount of opium, poppy dust, precursors , 2 cars and 21 Lakh rupees cash from two separate places on Monday. The police has arrested two persons in this connection.Chittorgarh SP Deepak Bhargava said the crime branch Jaipur alerted the local police about huge amount of narcotic substances stocked in two different places under Sadar police station limits of the district. At the instructions of IG (crime) Vijay Kumar Singh, a special team led by DSP SuryaVeer Singh Rathore had camped at Chittorgarh and collected authentic information on smuggling of narcotic substances in the area. The team shared the details to the local police.
Two teams were set off to raid the places. One of the team led by Sadar SHO Phoolchand Tailor went to Bhatt Kotdi village at one Udailal son of Shankarlal Dhakad’s home and found 7.680 gram opium, 5.67 quintal poppy dust (doda chura), precursor in form of white powder 650 gram. Cops also seized a car and 8 lakh rupees from him.
Another team raided at Karunda village at Heeralal son of Madanlal Jat’s house. Seeing the police Heeralal tried to flush out the opium by emptying it in the kitchen’s wash basin and opening the tap. Police held the man and collected the opium dissolved water in utensils which weighed around 12.55 kilogram. Some 5.92 kg Chemical powder used in mixing with the opium too was found from his custody while cops also found 13 lakh rupees cash and an unregistered car at his home.
