Udaipur : Dr. Narendra Singh Rathore, Honourable Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology released a book on limnogy authored by Dr Madhu Sudan Sharma and Dr. L.L.Sharma. On this occasion, he congratulated the authors and said that lake science is a very broad subject in which many subjects of science are covered. Limnology is very relevant for the common citizens of the country, especially for the residents of Udaipur. The scenic beauty of the world famous lakes in Udaipurn attracts tourists from all over the world. Optimum water quality is very important in managing the beauty of lakes. Dr.Rathore said that this book will be helpful for all fisheries colleges and youths with scientific temper for lake science.
The author of the book, former Vice Chancellor of Kota University Prof. Madhu Sudan Sharma said that all the practical methods and informations are related to Limnology have been compiled in simple language. From the information given in the book, the physical, chemical and biological qualities of water and the productivity of lake can be estimated which is necessary for its efficient management.
Prof. L.L. Sharma, co-author of the book and former Dean of the College of Fisheries, said that along with all the important methods in the book, detailed information is given about the important lakes, fauna in the lake, and instruments for lake investigation. The book is based on the latest syllabus proposed by the Fifth Dean Committee of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. On the occasion of the release of the book, members of SOC, OSD-Dr.Virendra Nepalia, Dean, College of Fisheries, Dr. B K Sharma and Public Relations Officer Dr.Subodh Sharma were also present.
