Home Minister Gulab chand Kataria at the foundation laying ceremony of sever treatment plants in Udaipur on Sunday.
Udaipur : The works under the Smart City and Amrit project is gaining pace in Udaipur. On Sunday, on the occasion of completion of 2 years of the launching of the Smart City Udaipur mission, Home minister GulabChand Kataria dedicated 2 projects and laid foundation stones of 6 major works worth approximately 300 crore rupees. Speaking at a function held at the Municipal Corporation premises here, Kataria said Udaipur has been sanctioned a budget of 1221 cr rupees under the Smart City plan and we will leave no stones unturned to transform the city of lakes into a smart one.
“ Its not only the responsibility of the government, but also of the residents to contribute in every possible way to make a clean and green city so that thousands of tourists coming far and wide take away with them a positive and soothing image of our culture, heritage and hospitality” he said. Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, UIT chairman Ravindra Shrimali were among others to speak on the occasion. UMC commissioner Sidharth Sihag gave a power point presentation on the works so far completed under the ambitious project. Home minister Kataria inaugurated a parking slot at GulabBag which has been constricted at the cost of 50 lakh rupees. The minister also inaugurated a pre-fabricated toilet facility at Railway station under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
This community toilet has 5 and 3 toilets for men and women respectively while a separate area for the physically challenged people. Kataria also laid the foundation of a sewerage line worth rupees 2crore that would prevent the fecal waste from Sisarma village fall into Pichhola lake. He also informed that sewer works worth 73.33 crore rupees would be initiated under the second phase of Amrut Yojana. Three sewerage treatment plants each at Karjali house, FCI Godown and Eklingpura too would be constructed under Amrut mission, Kataria said. Another major work initiated was at Ayad was laying sewer lines here to prevent waste water fall into the river. Looking at the increasing popularity of open air gyms at public places, six such new gyms were announced on the occasion.
