Pollution breaks all records in Capital Delhi and NCR

It seems, that light rain in Delhi and NCR on Saturday night and Sunday morning has made the condition worse. According to latest reports, the Delhi air quality index reached upto 999 on Sunday morning, falling into ‘Severe’ category. Similar weather condition is being witnessed in cities in neighbouring states.

With air pollution soaring to hazardous levels, people are facing breathing difficulties. Situation is worse in villages where people are experiencing eye irritation and sore throat. High particulate matter in the air has further aggravated the situation. The authorities have already shut schools, banned construction activities and declared a ‘public health emergency’.

In such a situation, people have been advised to stay indoors and avoid outdoor physical activity.

Meanwhile, Weather experts said there is a significant improvement in wind speed and it will increase gradually from Sunday.

Scattered rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi is also likely on November 7 and November 8 under the influence of Cyclone Maha and a fresh western disturbance.
