In his address, the Defence Minister highlighted the significance of SCO in effectively addressing the challenges facing the region.
He said Economic cooperation is the key to prosperity and stability while Unilateralism & protectionism has done good to none.
Rajnath singh said India remains committed to a transparent, rules-based, open, inclusive and non-discriminatory multilateral trading system with the WTO at its centre. He further said that India strongly supports the initiative to facilitate cooperation among small and medium-sized enterprises within the SCO.
The SCO Members can work together for technology and investment support to food pocessing and put in a supporting logistics chain.
Earlier on Friday, the defence minister paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at his statue at Shastri street in Tashkent.
Lal Bahadur Shastri breathed his last in Tashkent on January 11, 1966 a day after the Tashkent Agreement was signed between India and Pakistan post 1965 War.
Raksha Mantri also visited the school built in the memory of the former PM and interacted with the children studying there. He expressed happiness on noticing their love for India and Hindi language.
RM also said that India’s association with the SCO members will help us in greater economic & counter-terrorism cooperation.
