President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday embarked upon a two nation state visit to Philippines and Japan from October 17th to 23rd.
Interestingly, India and Philippines will be celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations this year.
The main focus of the Philippines visit will be on strengthening economic ties.
The trade between the two nations has grown by 17% and currently stands at $2.3 billion, with India exporting goods worth $1.7 billion.
During the second leg of his visit, the President will visit Tokyo for the Enthronement Ceremony of the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito. During his visit, he will also meet the heads of states of other nations who will attend the ceremony.
