More than twenty five Bauls performed during the program. Bauls Swapan Adhikari, Karuna Prasad and Ila Biswas from India performed during the program among others. Renowned Baul singers from Bangladesh like Tuntun Baul, Razzak Fakir, Abu Bakr Siddik and Arefina Iva also performed during the event.
Apart from the songs performed by Bauls from Bangladesh and India, a seminar was also organised on the philosophy of Lalon in which prominent scholars like Abdul Mannan, former Director General of Nazrul Institute Mohammad Nurul Huda and others participated.
In her message for the occasion Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das said that humanism lies at the root of Lalon Fakir’s teachings. She said that the festival lays emphasis on the liberal and secular values of this region and the message of humanistic philosophy will travel further through Baul Music.
