
Dehradun, June 7: The atmosphere at Chatwood Hall was filled with pride and excitement as 73 cadets from the Army Cadet College (ACC) Wing successfully completed their rigorous academic and military training. This achievement was celebrated during a grand and inspiring graduation ceremony attended by cadets’ parents, instructors, and distinguished guests.
Lieutenant General Nagendra Singh (AVSM, YSM, SM), Commandant of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), awarded Bachelor’s degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, to 32 cadets from the Science stream and 42 from the Humanities stream of the 127th course of the Army Cadet College Wing.
The Army Cadet College serves as a premier training institution for the Indian Army, acting as a feeder for the Indian Military Academy. The training curriculum is designed to foster the physical, mental, and intellectual development of cadets. Each cadet receives a combination of graduate education and rigorous military training to develop the qualities necessary for becoming commissioned officers in the Indian Army.
This graduation ceremony symbolized the successful completion of a three-year training program. Cadets, set to graduate in July 2026, will join the Indian Military Academy as officer cadets for pre-commissioning training.
In his graduation speech, Lieutenant General Nagendra Singh congratulated all cadets for successfully completing their challenging training and reaching a significant milestone in their professional lives. He emphasized that character, self-discipline, courage, motivation, positive thinking, and professional competence are essential pillars of a successful military officer.
During the ceremony, outstanding cadets were also honored. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gold Medal was awarded to Wing Cadet Captain Naveen, the COAS Silver Medal to Company Cadet Captain Avneesh Kumar Mishra, and the COAS Bronze Medal to Wing Cadet Quarter Master Harshraj.
Company Quarter Master Sergeant Amanpreet Singh received the Commandant’s Silver Medal for securing first place in service subjects. Company Cadet Captain Avneesh Kumar Mishra and Wing Cadet Captain Naveen were recognized for achieving first place in the Humanities and Science streams, respectively.
Lieutenant General Nagendra Singh presented the prestigious ‘Commandant Banner’ to Nubra Company for becoming the champion company of the Army Cadet College. This honor is awarded to the company that excels in various competitions, including sports, physical training, camps, debates, internal organization, weapon training, academic performance, and service training.
At the ceremony’s conclusion, the Commandant praised Brigadier Piyush Khurana (SM), the commander of the Army Cadet College Wing, along with the instructor and faculty team for their continuous efforts in shaping capable military officers.
The event provided a memorable glimpse into the transformative journey of the cadets. Parents beamed with pride at their children’s achievements, while instructors expressed satisfaction with their success and progress. Throughout the program, the spirit of camaraderie, discipline, and service to the nation was clearly evident.
