Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), Mar 24 : Even as vigilance has been ramped up in view of Maoists observing ‘Anti-Imperialism Week’, four rebels were placed under arrest in this restive district of Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division, police said on Thursday. Personnel of the CRPF’s 229th Battalion and those from Basaguda were dispatched on Wednesday following inputs. Those apprehended were identified as Suresh Kaka, Madkam Hidma, Kadti Nagesh and Jantana Sarkar who were allegedly involved in many incidents. A report from Jagdalpur said that traffic came to a standstill along the principal route linking Bastar district’s Orchha block to Narayanpur district headquarters as ultras damaged the metalled road at various points in Narayanpur district and put up banners.
