Udhampu : After a blast in a bus in Udhampur, a second blast was registered within eight hours. While the first bomb blast in Udhampur happened after late Wednesday night, the second blast took place on Thursday morning in a bus parked at Udhampur bus stand. No casualties were reported in the second bombing.
After these blasts, security has been increased on the national highway including Udhampur. Intensive checking of vehicles is being done by putting up nakas at various places. Security forces have been deployed in various areas of Udhampur.
While confirming the bomb blast, ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh said that the first blast took place in a bus parked at a petrol pump near Domel Chowk in Udhampur, while the second blast took place this morning in a bus parked inside the old bus stand. Both the blasts were the same. While two people, including the conductor, were injured in the night’s bomb blast, no one was reported injured in this morning’s bomb blast.
According to eyewitnesses, the blast took place in a bus (number JK14C.3636) running between Udhampur-Ramnagar. It is being told that this explosion was stronger than the explosion in the bus parked at Domel petrol pump in the night. The bus was completely burnt to ashes in this blast, while other buses parked nearby also got damaged.
A police official said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the blast took place inside the bus. Both the incidents of both the bomb blasts are being investigated.
