24 Naxals surrender in Chhattisgarh

Sukma (Chhattisgarh), Mar 22 : As counter-insurgency operations continue relentlessly in Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division, as many as 24 Maoists – including ten women – who were operating as guerrillas for an extended period of time, have capitulated in this extremely restive district. “The rebels who returned to the mainstream late Monday celebrated the Festival of Colours with villagers and senior officers at a camp. The ultras were allegedly involved in various incidents within Kistaram Police Station limits,” Superintendent of Police S l Sharma said on Tuesday. XC-AC
