๐๐๐ Man Requests Helicopter to Reach Home Due to Blocked Access Road
Barmer, January 29 (Hindustan Samachar): In a rather unusual plea, a resident of Bada Jorapura village in Rajasthanโs Barmer district approached District Collector Tina Dabi during a night grievance meeting, requesting a helicopter to access his own house. The man, Mangilal, claimed that the only route to his home had been blocked, leaving him no way to travel or transport goods.
Frustrated by the persistent inaccessibility, he told the collector: โEither get the road reopened or arrange for a helicopter.โ
Repeated Complaints Ignored, SDM Assures Resolution
During the grievance session held at Sedwa sub-division headquarters, Mangilal presented his complaint, stating that his home has existed for over 50 years, located about half a kilometer from the Bharatmala Highway (Sedwa to Bakhasar). The primary access road, previously in use for three years, was blocked four to five months ago by a local physical education teacher (PTI) named Kherajaram, who allegedly encroached on the path and cultivated cumin crops on the land.
Mangilal revealed that despite filing multiple complaints with revenue officials and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), no action had been taken. He added that a temporary intervention had been made earlier with police assistance, but the route was obstructed again.
Upon hearing the complaint, SDM Badrinarayan Vishnoi questioned why the issue had not been addressed earlier. He assured Mangilal that the matter would be investigated and directed the education department to take action against the accused teacher. The blocked road is expected to be reopened within a week.
Collector Ensures Action, Assures Complainant
Collector Tina Dabi, who was actively listening to public grievances, reassured Mangilal that his issue would be resolved at the earliest. The administration is now working towards a permanent solution to restore access to the village and prevent further encroachments.
