Jaipur, February 19, 2025 Rajasthan witnessed a shift in weather patterns on Tuesday as a weak Western Disturbance influenced light to moderate rainfall in Jaipur and at least half a dozen cities. With another Western Disturbance expected to intensify, the rainfall is likely to continue on February 19 and 20, with Bikaner division seeing the most significant impact. The region may experience hailstorms in some areas, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h.

Widespread Rainfall Across Rajasthan

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall activity began in Barmer on Monday night and later spread across various districts. On Tuesday morning, Jaipur, Churu, Tonk, Sikar, and Dausa recorded rainfall.

Temperature Trends Across Major Cities

Despite the rainfall, 13 cities recorded daytime temperatures exceeding 30°C, with Barmer being the hottest at 33.8°C.

Impact of Western Disturbance (February 19-20)

According to IMD Jaipur Director Radheshyam Sharma, the new Western Disturbance will impact Rajasthan from February 19 afternoon, leading to:

  • Thunderstorms and gusty winds (30-40 km/h) in Bikaner and surrounding areas
  • Light rainfall in Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions
  • Scattered showers in northern Rajasthan on February 20
  • Dry weather returning across most regions by February 21

  • Lalsot (Dausa) recorded the highest rainfall at 3.0 mm.
  • Jaipur experienced 1.6 mm rainfall, leading to a 2.1°C drop in maximum temperature and a 0.7°C drop in minimum temperature.
  • Humidity levels across the state ranged between 24% and 99%.

Jaipur’s Weather Transformation

Jaipur’s weather changed significantly from Monday night, with dark clouds covering the sky, followed by strong winds and intermittent light showers for nearly an hour in the early morning. The rain lowered temperatures, creating a chilly atmosphere even during the day.
