Video : In Dungarpur, tribal women stage protest against gov teacher for sexist remarks

Udaipur : Enraged by some objectionable comments made by a government school teacher in a social gathering, tribal women staged a protest outside the Dungarpur collectorate on Thursday. In a memorandum addressed to the governor, the protestors said that the teacher does not deserve to be in the noble profession after passing derogatory and sexist remarks against tribal women in general.

The outrage spread as the teacher’s video went viral on the social media where he is seen passing obscene comments on the tribal females. Though, the teacher has been APO-ed, but the protestors were adamant on his termination and legal action against him.

Bhanwarlal Parmar, the teacher posted in a government school in Simalwara block of the district had in a ‘Chintan Shivir’ held recently in Salumber of Udaipur district, asked the tribal men to stop their women from observing fast and visiting temples. He said that the tribal women observe fast and dress up specially to visit temples. A girl who observe ‘solah somwar fast’ doesnt comes to school but go to temple wearing kajal and lipstick, with untied hairs, thus provoking sexual feelings even in a priest.

The teacher allegedly said “Even a person like me who is a teacher experience such feelings on seeing girls on roads, so it is natural that even the priests in the temple would bear similar thoughts on seeing beautiful girls”.
