UPSC Announces Recruitment for 1,358 Combined Medical Service Positions

New Delhi, March 12: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Medical Service (CMS) Examination 2026 on its official website. This year, UPSC is inviting applications for a total of 1,358 positions under the CMS, aimed at filling vacancies in various departments and institutions of the central government.

The positions available for recruitment include 864 Medical Officer Grade in the General Duty category, 450 Assistant Divisional Medical Officers, 14 General Duty Medical Officers, and 30 General Duty Medical Officer Grade-II positions.

The online application process for these positions commenced on March 11, and the last date to apply is set for March 31. Eligible and interested candidates are advised to submit their registration forms before 6 PM on the deadline date.

Candidates filling out the application form must pay the prescribed application fee online, which is set at ₹200 for General/OBC/EWS candidates. Women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and candidates with disabilities are exempt from the application fee.

Selection will be based on a written examination followed by a personality test or personal interview. Selected candidates will receive a salary according to the pay matrix level 10, ranging from ₹56,100 to ₹177,500 per month.

The maximum age limit for candidates is set at 32 years, calculated as of August 1. Relaxations in the upper age limit will be provided for candidates from reserved categories. The written examination is scheduled to take place on August 2 at designated exam centers.

To apply online, candidates should first visit the official UPSC website. After reaching the homepage, click on the active application link for the relevant position. Then, register and log in. Fill in all the required information in the form, upload the necessary documents in the correct size and format, pay the application fee, and finally, check and submit the form. Don’t forget to print a copy of the application form for future reference.
