Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a set of 14 special postal covers depicting Lord Ram’s journey to exile. The special cover features all 14 locations in the state associated with the ‘ Ram Van Gaman Path,’ according to a statement from the postal department. Uttar Pradesh has made significant contributions to India’s prosperity, culture, and legacy and it also played an essential part in the freedom movement. All of these themes are being preserved by the Postal Service through stamps and special covers for future generations,” Yogi Adityanath made the remarks here at the 12th State Level Philatelic Stamp Exhibition ‘UPHILEX-2022.’
According to the statement, the cover includes Ayodhya, the Tamsa river’s bank, Surya Kund (Ayodhya), Sita Kund (Sultanpur), Dev Ghat (Pratapgarh), Shringverpur, Ram Joita, Maharishi Bharadwaj Ashram, Akshayvat (in Prayagraj), Sita Hills, Maharishi Valmiki Ashram, Kamadgiri, Ramshaiya, Ramghat (in Chitrakoot), the statement said.
At a ceremony hosted by the Department of Posts, Chief Minister Adityanath stated that postal services have a rich history, and that philately ties the past with the present. Stamps play a significant role in introducing the country’s and Uttar Pradesh’s rich and beautiful past. Philately is a hobby as well as a great source of knowledge development for today’s youngsters,” he stated.
Kaushlendra Kumar Sinha, Chief Postmaster General, Uttar Pradesh Circle, stated that the Department of Posts is taking several initiatives to boost philately.
Philately should be taken up as a pastime. The kids will be able to escape mobile addiction and obtain information through philately, which will expand their knowledge, as a result of this,” he stated. BJP MLAs Neeraj Bora, Amresh Kumar, and Jai Devi attended the ceremony, as did exhibition jury member Prashant H. Pandya, Postmaster General SFH Rizvi, Postmaster General (Lucknow) Vivek Kumar Daksh, and Postmaster General (Varanasi Region) Krishna Kumar Yadav.
